Best Life I-Words – Imaginative

Insight Blog Topic Image 100 x 100Where does Imagination come from? We know it’s internal and very closely tied to our ability to create and dream. Imagination also requires freedom and the willingness to take risks, and so many other things that aren’t often part of the adult world many of us live in. Ironically, many of our career choices require us to be imaginative, and our companies need us to look at their issues from a fresh perspective. Finding and cultivating your imagination is one of the most powerful things you can do when developing personal insight.

Take a moment and think back to a time when you were the most imaginative. It could be when you were 7 or 16 and in the height of puberty. Perhaps, it may even be right now. Regardless of when, think about what it feels like to imagine without caring what anyone thinks about your ideas, just freely letting them out into the world. My guess, is that like many people, something along the way either boosted your imagination or slowed it down.

Metaphors Blog Topic Image 100 x 100Create something new. Imagination is grown by putting it to use, and there is no better use for imagination then to create. “What should I create?” you might ask. That is up to you. It will be as unique as you are. Perhaps you will create something new at work or you will create a new toy or piece of clothing for your grandchild. I enjoy the moments of imagination in my life and what I create with them. Each time I create, more barriers fall and creation becomes smoother and more spontaneous. Don’t copy anyone else’s work but pull from within yourself and create something that is new.
